Frequently Asked Questions About Tanzania Safaris
What is the best time to go on a Tanzania safari?
Tanzania is a year-round safari destination, but June to October is generally one of the best periods for wildlife viewing because animals are easier to spot during the dry season. If you want to see the wildebeest calving season, January to February is an excellent time to visit the Serengeti.
Which parks should I visit on a Tanzania safari?
Some of the most popular safari destinations are Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire National Park, and Lake Manyara National Park. Serengeti is famous for its wildlife and Great Migration, Ngorongoro offers excellent wildlife viewing in a unique crater setting, while Tarangire is particularly known for elephants and baobab trees.
How many days do I need for a Tanzania safari?
For a first-time safari, 4–7 days is a good starting point. A 4-day safari can cover key destinations such as Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti, while 6–7 days allows more time for game drives and a more relaxed experience.
What animals can I see on a Tanzania safari?
You can see a wide variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos and many bird species. The exact animals you see will depend on the season, park and location of the wildlife during your safari.
What should I pack for a Tanzania safari?
Pack light, comfortable clothing, a warm jacket for early morning game drives, comfortable shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, binoculars and a camera. Early mornings in areas such as Ngorongoro can be cool, so having layers is recommended.

Hiking Kilimanjaro was a bucket list trip and I was in good hands with chance venture tours. It was 100% super amazing Hiking Kilimanjaro was a bucket list day trip and I was in good hands with chance venture tours. It was 100% the right choice. I’m a south Africa, traveled with a friends. We had solo hikers, couples, and 2 kids, friends in our group of 4.The group camaraderie was priceless. Chance venture tours are true professionals. I felt safe and supported the entire time, plus very well fed with tasty food and I can be a food snob sometimes too. They pick you up from airport, select a great hotel, help with any local excursions, check your gear- have gear you can rent if needed, daily medical checks on the mountain, morning wake ups w coffee or tea, snacks and hot tea during hikes. Kindly reccomended you chance venture tours for the nextadventure of your life time you wont regret to choose them!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()

A dream came true In September we climbed Kilimanjaro on the 7-day Lemosho route with Chance Venture Tours and we had an unforgettable time! Our guide Goodchance supported us at all times, motivated us with different songs and always took care of our health and well-being. He taught us a lot about the mountain, the landscape and the vegetation. We can now also speak a few words in Swahili. :-) We had a lot of laughs and unforgettable moments with the whole team, for which we are very grateful. The food was always fresh and lovingly prepared. It always tasted delicious. Many thanks to our chef Mokozi! Climbing Uhuru Peak was a dream come true. We reached the summit just in time for sunrise and were able to experience a wonderful morning atmosphere. A big thank you to our porters, Emmanuel, Calvin, Daniel, Gift, Elinami, Jemsi and Anolrd, who worked incredibly hard to support us. We will always remember this amazing week with these lovely people and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for everything. Keep up your positive attitude to life! Hakuna Matata! We can absolutely recommend this company for your Kilimanjaro adventure!Posted on Tripadvisor![]()
